Xiaomi and its sub-brand Redmi have typically been known for their Android-based televisions and the PatchWall user interface that helps set the company's televisions apart from the competition. It's an approach that has worked well, and offers a bit of uniformity across the product range. Whether you're buying a top-end Xiaomi TV or an entry-level Redmi model, the software experience is largely the same. However, the company's recently launched Smart Fire TV 32 gives that rather reliable and familiar experience a surprising skip.

  • Good
  • Vivid 120Hz AMOLED display

  • Reliable battery life with relatively fast charging

  • Not good for fast-paced games

Compared to last year's Redmi Note 11 or even the Note 11S (Review), Xiaomi's latest Redmi Note 12 5G packs several upgrades. To start with, the phone supports 5G thanks to a more recent Qualcomm SoC, more base storage, and a smoother display. However, all of this comes at a price. At Rs. 17,999 for the base variant, these upgrades don't look particularly exciting considering that most smartphones in this bracket (or even below) already have them.

  • Quality multimedia experience
  • Super-fast charging, good battery life
  • Feature-rich software with minimal bloatware

  • Ultra-wide camera performance needs improvement

Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G is Xiaomi's latest mid-range smartphone offering in India. The top-of-the-line phone in the Note 12 series is a direct successor to the Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G (Review), which didn't quite pan out to be a segment leader as many would have hoped for, in our opinion. Xiaomi is now trying to fill the void with the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G, with some segment-first hardware.
